Sugar Cookie Buttercream Frosting

0 In a large bowl, whip unsalted butter (1 cup; i.e. 2 sticks) for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy on high speed. 1 Whip in vanilla extract (2 teaspoons), almond extract (*½ - 1 ½ teaspoons), and salt (¼ teaspoons). 2 On medium/low speed begin adding in powdered sugar (3 cups) half cup at a time until all is incorporated. 3 Mix at high speed for 2-3 minutes until nice and creamy. 4 Spread on top of cookies or place frosting in a large piping bag with a large star tip to achieve a more intricate design. To pipe the swirl, start from the inside and swirl to the outside. 5 Makes 2 cups of frosting, which is enough to generously frost about (24) 2.5" circle cookies.View original recipe
